(Below) The sad demise of Q-Queenie, destroyed at Woodhall Spa on 28th December 1942 when a photoflash exploded inside the aircraft, killing the armourer, AC2 Aubrey Taylor.
(Above) Part of the wreckage of Lancaster JA958 OF - K which crashed near Erlangen in the Netherlands during the night of 27th/28th August 1943. Five members of the crew were killed, including the Canadian pilot, Flight Lieutenant Oliver Robertson DFC.
(Above) A photograph of the Briefing Room at Coningsby taken in 1945. (Below) Part of the wreckage of another 97 Squadron aircraft that failed to return from an operation. This is a section of the fuselage of Lancaster PB461 OF-M which crashed in the vicinity of Eiken in Norway on the night of 21st/22nd December 1944. Australian Flying Officer Sinclair and his crew were taking part in an attack on a synthetic oil plant at Politz, near Stettin. All of the crew were killed.
