LACW Evangeline Logan (Sevice No. 476177)

Known to her friends as "Paddy", Evangeline was born in St.Catherines, Ontario, Canada in 1922.

She met Sgt Henry William Street who was a Compass Adjuster at Coningsby. and they were married at Lincoln Cathedral on Evangeline's Birthday on 1st May 1945 or 1946. Sgt Street had been hoping to become aircrew, but unfortunately his sight was not up to scratch for flying duties

Evangeline (or "Paddy") was a cook in the airmens' mess and she must have served Des Evans (our former Webmaster)on a number of occasions.

(Above) An unidentified 97 Squadron WAAF. If anyone recognises this lady, please contact us.

Madge John (nee Toyne)

This is a photo of Madge John (nee Toyne) who worked in the NAAFI at Coningsby 1944/45. We have been fortunate in tracing Madge with the help of Karen Barker to whom we are deeply indebted. It was Karen's usual persistence which paid off.

ACW Zola Oelrichs

Photo of ACW Zola Oelrichs when she was stationed at Coningsby. She met and married Sgt Alan Sibbald (Flight Engineer in Wing Commander Baker's crew)whilst stationed at Coningsby. The marriage took place on 11th April 1945.
